Surah Al Fatiha (سُّورَةُ الفَاتِحَة‎) is the opening chapter of the Holy Quran, consisting of seven verses (Ayat). It serves as a heartfelt supplication for guidance, lordship, and divine mercy.

Imam Ja'far al-Sadiq (a) elaborated on its importance, stating that anyone who recites it will find a pathway to goodness in both this life and the hereafter. Furthermore, he mentioned that God's Greatest Name is embedded within this surah. In his work al-Ikhtisas, al-Shaykh al-Mufid also cites a hadith wherein the Prophet (s) affirms that the rewards for reciting Surah Al-Fatiha match those of reciting all Holy Scriptures.
